Courage doesn’t come from nowhere
We call on courage when we’re motivated to do hard things.
- courage is acting despite the fear
- we don’t willing walk towards fear
- we face fear because on the other side is something that we want
This is wisdom.
Wisdom to do hard things.
Not because other people expect that of us.
But because we know that by doing hard things we get experience more of what we want and need.
Without knowing what’s on the other side we’ll never step into the rushing river.
In her interview on the Peripheral Thinking podcast Christine Raine Rodríguez shared with host Ben Johnson about her need to live in more integrity with herself.
This is why she had to call on courage.
Integrity of self was her motivation.
Integrity was her deep need.
When you’re able to identify these deep needs that aren’t being met then you can start cultivating the courage to change.
As a wisdom worker you’re in transition.
A transition from working one way to working another way.
It’s not about the money.
Or even about purpose or impact.
It’s do with becoming a more whole individual.
It’s about finding and then putting together those missing parts of yourself.
This takes courage as along this path hides pain.
Don’t do it alone.
