The Many Parts of Your Business Persona
You are made of many parts.
One of them is an entrepreneur.
- that part needs agency
- that part needs impact
- that part needs freedom
But you also have another part.
This part is an employee.
- this part needs stability
- this part needs security
- this part needs to be just told what to do
You also have many other parts.
- the parent
- the child
- the showman
- the hermit
- the saviour
- the victim
Each part wants to be heard.
At times, one much more than the others.
You are all of these parts.
And you are none of them.
When you’re able to hear, soothe and sympathise with all your parts you can then feel more at peace with your life and more intentional with your actions.
You can see the parts for who they really are.
Parts of you from different points in your past.
You can then choose to listen to each part and give it what it needs.
Sometimes the entrepreneurial part does need you to quit your job and venture out on your own.
Or it could just need a side hustle or passion project.
But you won’t know if you don’t listen to it.
And the employee part will tell you to play it safe and stay where you are.
You can’t ignore that.
But you also can’t be driven by it.
You need space to explore.
With all your parts.
So that you can bring them along.
Or at least make sure they’re heard and soothed.
Don’t succumb to an internal battle of your parts.
It’s tiring enough to start something new.
Work with them.
And work for yourself.
Work towards the vision you have that’s drowned out by the noise.
Find space.
Calm your parts.
Listen for the quiet voice of your vision.
Life’s too short to let it go unheard.
